Club
Overview
Winskill Dolphins is a winter swim club focused on long-term athlete development, strong technical foundations, and a supportive team environment. Swimmers train from September to June, with structured groups based on age, skill, and readiness. Each group has its own training focus, practice schedule, and meet expectations. Coaches assess swimmers regularly and guide them through the program as they grow.
Registration Steps
A New Swimmer Assessment allows our WDSC coaches to get an idea of your swimmer's skill level in the pool, and will help with deciding their group placement. Please plan for your swimmer to be in the pool for around 10-15 minutes.
If you run into any issues, or if any of the times listed above do not work with your family's schedule, please email Coach Judy at judy401@shaw.ca

Group Placement
After your New Swimmer Assessment, you will receive a follow up email, which will either list the group that your swimmer has been placed into, OR will provide a list of skills to work on before coming back in for another assessment. If your swimmer is placed in a group you will also receive instructions on how to complete the registration process.
Complete Registration
The last step in joining the club is to complete the registration process on our website! Once your swimmer's registration is completed and confirmed they will be able to jump into the pool with their training group! Instructions on the registration process can be found below!

“Our son has been part of the Winskill Dolphins Swim Club for many years, and the growth we have seen has been remarkable. The coaching staff create a supportive environment that challenges swimmers to reach their potential while building confidence, discipline, and resilience. We have watched Aiden develop not only as a swimmer but also as a young man, and we are grateful to be part of such a positive and welcoming community.”

How groups work
Swimmers are placed into groups based on: Age and developmental stage Technical skills Coach assessment Previous swimming experience

Attendance & Absences
If your swimmer will miss a practice or meet, please notify your coach by email. For meets, early communication is important so coaches can finalize entries.
May Schedule Change
As we transition into the summer swimming season, swimmer schedules will shift in May. If the new times don't work for your family, we're happy to work with you to find a schedule that does.
The Parent Handbook provides important information about club policies, expectations, communication, meets, volunteering, and supporting your swimmer.
Every swimmer and swimmer family is required to fulfill volunteer hours, measured as points, as part of their membership, except for the Mini-Dolphins group. Requirements vary by group.
You will be asked to acknowledge that you have read the Parent Handbook and Volunteer Commitment Policy during registration.
